Description :

ATP is consumed for energy in processes including ion transport, muscle contraction, nerve impulse propagation, substrate phosphorylation, and chemical synthesis. These processes, as well as others, create a high demand for ATP.

Adenosine: This part of the molecule consists of adenine (a nitrogenous base) and ribose (a five-carbon sugar). Adenine is a purine base, and ribose is a type of sugar that differs from deoxyribose found in DNA.

Phosphate Groups: ATP has three phosphate groups, each connected by high-energy bonds known as phosphoanhydride bonds. because their hydrolysis releases energy.
Energy Transfer: ATP is often described as the "energy currency" of the cell. The high-energy bonds between the phosphate groups are unstable and can be broken down through hydrolysis. 
Signal Transduction: ATP is used to phosphorylate proteins, which can activate or deactivate them, thus regulating various signaling pathways
